Gershom

Gershom, a religious Order...

is an organization created in accordance with that doctrine set forth in the case of Watson v. Jones, 80 US [13 Wall.] 679 (1871)

Exodus 2:22

And she bore him a ben (son), and he called shmo (him) Gershom; for he said, I have been a ger (stranger) in a foreign land.

"Gershom" sounds like the definition in the

IRC as a non-resident alien. That is someone who is in a foriegn land (non-resident) and a stranger (alien to the jurisdiction).
